Introduction of Station Safety Facilities

 

1.Guardrail:

*

The handrails for passengers to travel up and down the stairs are provided for passengers to grasp and prevent from tumbling.

2.Anti-Skid Tiles:

*

These tiles shall be paved on the floor of the concourse layer or platform layer to prevent passengers from slipping.

3.Emergency Door:

*

Each floor shall be provided with an escape access and escape door that reaches the ground directly. In the event passengers cannot leave the station from the normal exit during an emergency, they can be evacuated from such an escape door.

4.Platform End Door:

*

The device provides for the control personnel to access the track, which is designed in a mobile type for interlinking with the CCTV System to prevent illegal intrusion.

5.Under Platform Evading Space:

*

The space that has been further recessed into the concrete support structure face under the platform according to the space required by the train, to provided for the person accidentally falling from the platform to evade the train.

6.Emergency Stop Button:

*

Installed on the station platform. In the event of emergency, such as a passenger falling onto the track, the passenger on the platform can push the Emergency Stop Button to instantly stop the train that is approaching the station.

7.Platform Screen Door:

*

Installed on the underground station platform, which opens and closes concurrently with the EMU door to provide a safe train-waiting environment for passengers.

8.Emergency Rescue Button:

*

Installed in the public toilet and the nighttime women safeguard waiting zone for passengers to summon help during an emergency. After pushing, the alarm will sound informing the PAO’s personnel to rush to the site for treatment.

9.Elevator Emergency Stop Button:

*

Installed inside the elevator cabin. Should an emergency occur to the elevator, push this button and the elevator will stop instantly.

10.Escalator Emergency Stop Button:

*

It is installed next to the escalator. Should an emergency occur to the escalator, push this button and the escalator will stop instantly.

11.Station Emergency Telephone:

*

The emergency telephone is installed on the platform. Upon the emergency, push the Talk key and the passenger can communicate wit the station staff in the PAO.

12. Disabled Facilities:

*

The facilities used by the passengers who are physically handicapped.

13. Tempered Glass:

*

The device designed to prevent passenger from falling or getting hit.

 
 

Introduction of Fire Fighting Equipment Safety Facilities

 

1.Indoor Fire Hydrant Cabinet:

*

One fire hydrant cabinet will be installed every 20m in the public areas of the station for personnel to extinguish fires and to avoid the fire from spreading.

2.Anti-Smoke Vertical Wall:

*

A glass smoke hood facing vertically down is installed on the ceiling of each floor, which is used to confine the smoke resulting from fire within a certain scope and reduce the spreading speed. It can work with the operation of smoke exhaust to effectively obtain time required for evacuation and fire extinguishing.

3.Fire Alarm Control Panel:

*

Located near the PAO for instantly providing station fire detection and fire fighting facility messages.

4.Smoke Exhaust Gate:

*

Installed in the underground station. When a fire breaks out, the Fire Alarm Control Panel will receive the message and activate the Smoke Exhaust Gate to expel the smoke.

5.Manual Smoke Exhaust Gate Switch:

*

If the gate cannot be activated automatically when a fire breaks out, the station staff can open this smoke exhaust gate to expel the smoke.

6.Smoke Sensor and Heat Sensor:

*

These sensors are used to detect the fire and transmit relevant message to the Fire Alarm Control Panel.

7. Emergency Exit Indicator, Evacuation Direction Indicator:

*

They are used to indicate the emergency exit and evacuation direction.

Introduction of EMU Safety Facilities

 

1.Emergency Intercom:

*

Two units each are installed on the left and right door of each car, which can be used by passengers to call the Train Operator to ask for help during an emergency.

2.Emergency Door Open Handle:

*

Installed on 1st and 3rd cars, located on the external side of the 4th train door from the Train Operator. If the train door cannot be opened from inside, it is used for emergency opening from outside.

3.Fire Extinguisher:

*

One unit each will be installed at the front and rear end of each car, and is provided for passengers to extinguish fire.

4.Emergency Escape Door/Escape Ramp:

*

They are installed at the front end of cab on 1st and 3rd car. When the train is stopped in-between stations for any reasonreason, the Train Operator can open such door to guide passengers to leave the train as required.
